My name is Christina Wynn and I am a student of Communications at Indiana Tech. I also play soccer for my university and have played for about 16 years. It has driven me to succeed in other aspects of my life. Growing up in south east Michigan, I never imagined I would be playing soccer for a scholarhip, I just played for fun. I realized I could use my skills to an advantage in my education and professional career. Coming to Indiana Tech was my choice that I was excited about. I studied Criminal Justice for my first year, but quickly realized it is not something I am passionate about. I found interest in Communications when I realized exactly what it entails: television, journalism, and sports. I have always been intrigued by the news; I love to know what’s going on in the world and around me. I have ambitions to one day be a news anchor for the world news, but that is far from my reach at the moment. If I could be the one to share information with the community or the nation, that would be amazing.
Currently I am looking for an internship for this summer. Perferably in a news room, but television broadcasting interests me too. I hope to graduate in May 2021 with my Bachelors in Communications and find a job in the Detroit news industry. I had always had dreams of living abroad or in another state, which I may still chase, but I am dedicated to being in my neice and nephews lives.
I have traveled often in my lifetime, in the States and in other countries. I recently stayed in Florence, Italy for three months. That is the longests I have been abroad at one time. It was more difficult than I expected, but after learning from others and from my own experiences, I got the hang of it. I hope to travel for my world news career, reporting from countries that need media coverage and attention from the rest of the world.
Aside from traveling when I can, I also have other hobbies and interests. When I am not traveling I like to be around people from other places. For example, I am the President of the MultiCultural club at school. This helps me learn and relate to people from other countries. I find other ways of life super interesting and I think there is plenty that we as Americans can learn from it. Another example of my interests is that I like to create videos for the experience. I don’t feel ready to say that I am good at it, but it is something I enjoy and would like to pursue. I think this is important because it’s a skill that nobody can take away from me, just like my education. It’s also a skill that I could potentially make money doing in the future. I enjoy doing things that make my adrenaline go fast, like skydiving, hang gliding, cliff jumping, or anything with a free fall.
